Prospective students looking to enter Three Rivers College’s Licensed Practical Nursing program have been given extra time to apply for entrance to the cohort in Kennett. The program is accepting applications for the 2013-2014 class through March 1st, extended from the original deadline of Feb. 1. The program trains students to obtain their LPN licensure, while also providing a jumping-off point for more advanced nursing education. Classes cover practical nursing skills, preparation for the licensure exam, with instruction in specific aspects of nursing such as pediatrics and obstetrics. It was previously offered as two programs, in Hayti and Kennett, but has been consolidated into a single group following the move of the Center at Kennett to its new location at 1000 Great West Drive. Potential applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED, and take a placement exam. For more info, call 573-840-9672.
