Animals in a no kill shelter are depending on your appetite this weekend in Marble Hill

Oct 11, 2012 -- 7:41pm

Friends of the Bollinger County Stray Project are hoping you will bring your appetite Saturday and attend a bbq fundraiser with proceeds going to the no-kill shelter in Zalma. Organizer Bill Minter says they will be set up in the parking lot of the Eag;e’s Lodge in Marble Hill at 9am with pork steaks, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and homemade side dishes! He tells KZIM KSIM his personal experiences led him to want to help the BCSP… He returned to the area a year ago and someone dumped strays on his land. He contacted Marilyn Neville who had no room for the dogs and asked Minter to foster them until a home could be found. He saw the dire need and wanted to help too.The shelter gets no funding from the state. Minter says they will keep cooking all day – or until they run out of food!  There will also be A YARD SALE ACROSS FROM THE COURT HOUSE and ID FINGERPRINTING EVENT FOR CHILDREN with the MARBLE HILL POLICE.
