TODAY'S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Brenda Geers, 73, who was arrested for driving under the influence ... while on her way to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Geers' vehicle collided with a food truck in a church parking lot and hit an 18-year-old student sitting nearby. Geers, told officers she had gone to the church to attend an AA meeting.

AND THEN THERE'S .....
Two British men, whose attempt at stealing furniture failed miserably when they left the back of their truck open. The men allegedly tried to steal a pair of brown sofas from a furniture store in Northampton, England. The men loaded the stolen sofas into the back of their truck, but didn't secure the items nor did they close the back of the truck. The men had not yet driven away when the store's manager saw the crime and simply walked to the back of the truck and pulled the stolen items out. The men drove away empty handed, but not before they were caught on the store's video camera.

OR HOW 'BOUT .....
Shena Hardin, a 38-year-old driver in Cleveland, Ohio, who found a unique way to get around those pesky school buses ... drive up on the sidewalk. Hardin apparently was upset at the amount of time it took to assist a student with disabilities onto a bus, so she came up with a unique solution and opted to pass the bus by driving on the sidewalk. Hardin says the sidewalk route was a one-time occurrence, but video shot by the school bus driver proves otherwise. She'd driven on the sidewalk enough times for the driver to document it, alert police and set up a sting.

OKAY, ONE MORE ....
Abby Elsner, a 25-year-old Ohio woman, who shot up with heroin ... in plain view of a police officer ... while behind the wheel of her car. A police officer pulled up alongside Elsner's vehicle only to notice her clearly shooting up with heroin. The officer said the young woman had her arms in the air, was sticking herself with a needle and steering the car with just her knees. When the young woman noticed the cop watching her, she tossed the needle to her passenger. She was pulled over and the needle was recovered from the waistband of her pants. Both women in the car were arrested.
