TODAY'S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Frank Giardina, 49, a New York man who was arrested after police knocked on his door and he answered -- while holding a marijuana pipe.
Cops were there to respond to a noise complaint.
But after noticing the pipe they went inside and found $150,000 worth of heroin bagged, bundled and ready for sale on his kitchen table.
He's now facing charges of criminal possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
He should also be charged with not using the peep-hole in his door.
AND THEN THERE'S .....
Carlos Davila, 34, who was arrested after calling in a bomb threat to get out of a court date.
Davila was at the Maywood, Illinois, courthouse for a hearing on theft charges when he used a pay phone to call in the threat — to the building he was in.
A search found no bombs but Sheriff’s deputies were able to use security cameras to identify and apprehend Davila.
Davila was charged with felony disorderly conduct and ordered held on a $15,000 bond.
OR HOW 'BOUT .....
16-year-old Ella Birchenough, who got herself trapped in a street drain while trying to retrieve her iPhone.
After dropping her phone Birchenough pulled off a storm drain and tried fishing it out with her feet.
Once down the hole, Ella found that she couldn't hoist herself out of the drain without help.
