An Advance man already convicted twice of rape goes to court in August in Franklin County on a third alleged charge. 51-year-old Steven Rendleman was arrested March 18th after police responded to Liberty Hill Cemetery on Highway-K. They allegedly found Rendleman in the act of raping an intoxicated woman he took from a local bar. The suspect was able to speed away but was arrested after his truck got stuck. He is charged with forcible rape, sodomy, kidnapping, and attempted assault on a law enforcement officer. His case was shifted to Franklin County. Rendleman will appear August 28th before Judge Gael Wood in Union to set his trial. The victim was treated at a hospital. Rendleman pleaded guilty to rape in 1984 and 1990.
