The National Weather Service confirms the tornado that ripped through Scott County was an EF3. It landed 3.5 miles northwest of Vanduser to 4.5 miles northeast of Blodgett at 1:07 p.m. Peak winds reached 140 miles per hour. The maximum path width was 600 yards. The tornado traveled for 19 miles. Two houses and three mobile homes were destroyed. Three empty railroad cars overturned. Numerous other homes had moderate to major damage. No one was injured.
