Union County man sentenced to Illinois Dept. of Corrections for drug charges

Union County Attorney General Tyler Edmonds announced today that 46-year-old James Schott of Murphysboro, have been sentenced for five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one count of Unlawful Participation in Methamphetamine Manufacturing, a Class 1 Felony. Schott was arrested on July 15th after he was found engaging in the manufacture of methamphetamine in a vehicle parked along Big Muddy Levee Road in rural Union County. Schott was taken into custody by U.S. Forest Service Officers and Union County Sheriff Deputies.
