Saxony Lutheran High School opened for the year Wednesday with a record freshmen enrollment. There are 52 new 9th graders roaming the halls, thanks in part to an exceptionally large 8th grade class from their feeder schools. Saxony boasts an overall enrollment this fall of 181 students in 9th through 12th grades at their building in Jackson. Principal Craig Ernstmeyer begins his 9th year at the helm. He tells KZIM KSIM they are blessed to have built a strong reputation in the Lutheran community. Ernstmeyer says the area knows Saxony provides a quality, Christian-based education to students while now offering a full ray of activities for them to participate in as part of the high school experience. Saxony moved into its new building 2004 and recently added two new classroom wings in 2009. Their facility can accommodate about 300 students.
