TODAY'S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Josue Rodriguez, 40, who attacked his roommate with a machete, because he changed the radio station. While Rodriguez was showering he heard his roommate switching the radio station, so he got out of the shower and confronted his roommate. The feud then became physical and Rodriguez grabbed a machete and bloodied his roommate's cheek with it. The roommate knocked the machete away and ran outside, where he called 911.
AND THEN THERE'S .....
Newlyweds Miaya Smith, 31, and Saint Ramirez Jr., 23, who were so involved in their public display of affection that they didn't notice the police officer next to them. The pair were caught having sex in a public park, behind a tree, but within view of pool swimmers several dozen yards away. The officer says that when they finally stopped and got dressed, they told him they'd just gotten married. As an added bonus, the woman's 5-year-old daughter was found in a nearby park shelter. It appears that the newlyweds will spend the next few weeks apart from each other, in separate cells.
OR HOW 'BOUT .....
Joseph Derrico, who now knows, if you're on a 100% disability pension, you probably shouldn't let yourself be filmed wrestling on a reality TV show. Derrico resigned from the force in 2010, three months after he was indicted on a charge of receiving stolen property. He applied for and was accepted into a disability retirement worth $70,000 annually. However, a video of him running after a monster truck and wrestling on a reality TV show surfaced earlier this year. Doctors have found him no longer permanently disabled and the state Police and Firemen's Retirement System board of trustees voted unanimously that Derrico's disability did not exist anymore, and suspended his $5,808.61 monthly payouts.
