Ashley Taylor Wright, 23, another Mother of the Year candidate, who attempted to flee from authorities by throwing her baby at the deputy as she tried to escape. Wright tried to smuggle about $260 worth of clothing from a Dillard's dressing room. When police stopped her in the parking lot, she told the deputy, "You will have to shoot through the baby to get me." She then ran from the car and threw the car seat with the baby inside at the deputy. The infant was not injured.
AND THEN THERE'S .....
A 23-year-old Burger King employee, who didn't want to get busted at work, so he hid his marijuana pipe inside a Kids Meal container. Unfortunately for him, a family purchased the meal and his pipe turned up in the hands of a 4-year-old. Police in Michigan said the employee put the pipe in the box to hide it while he worked and he didn't mean to give it out. Police arrested the employee and two friends, ages 18 and 20.
OR HOW 'BOUT .....
James E. Fleming, 17, who learned if you can't crack open a stolen safe the first time don't come back and try again the next day, especially if it's in a police officer's back yard. Fleming took the safe from a local church and carried it to a nearby back yard, which happened to be the residence of a local police officer. He then tried to open the safe with a screw driver. After unsuccessful attempts, he left the safe and returned the next day to renew his efforts, where he was confronted by the off-duty police officer. Fleming fled but was apprehended a short time later.
