TODAY'S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
47-year-old Brack Dean Davis, who rented a laptop then pawned it to make a few quick bucks. Davis told police he "owed people money" and solved his debt problem by renting a computer, then pawning it. Now he's in more trouble than just owing money. He was charged with grand theft and fraud.
AND THEN THERE'S .....
A British man, who paid $390 to two men on the street for a box containing an iPad, but ended up with potatoes instead. The unidentified man was approached by two obviously persuasive gentlemen at London's Piccadilly rail station selling a boxed iPad. Unfortunately for him, he overpaid handsomely for a box that contained nothing but potatoes.
OR HOW 'BOUT .....
Former Assistant County Prosecutor Aaron Brockler, who now knows not to log into Facebook as a murder suspect's girlfriend to get alibi witnesses to change their testimony. Brockler was fired after he admitted posing as a woman in a Facebook chat with an accused killer's alibi witnesses in an attempt to persuade them to change their testimony. County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty said, "This office does not condone and will not tolerate such unethical behavior. He disgraced this office and everyone who works here."
