Governor Nixon to visit Scott City High School about expansion of A+ Schools program

Apr 29, 2013 -- 5:35pm

Governor Jay Nixon will visit Scott City High School Tuesday at 1pm to recognize the district for its continued academic excellence, and to discuss the significant progress that has been made toward the goal of giving every student in Missouri the opportunity to earn an A+ Scholarship.

Under the A+ program, Missouri students can earn a scholarship to cover the cost of tuition and academic fees for two years at any public two-year community college or technical school in the state. To be eligible for the program, students must meet academic achievement, conduct and attendance requirements, and perform 50 hours of tutoring or mentoring service.
