A LARGE FREE 2-day dental services program will be in Cape in early May!

Apr 26, 2013 -- 12:15pm

2-hundred dentists and over one-hundred hygienists from Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas will be in Cape Girardeau May 3rd and 4th doing free dental screenings and dental work! Cape Girardeau Dentists and volunteer Dr. Jan Roupp says MO-MOM or Missouri Mission of Mercy will be at the Show Me Center performing free work on those who would otherwise go without. She tells KZIM KSIM they will not be doing crowns, dentures, or bridges but they will perform a wide range of work on over 18-hundred people. The floor will be divided into portion including: hygiene, fillings, endodonics, pedo, two surgery, and numbing areas where people will get local anesthetic prior to invasive work. This is done in bulk so they can see as many patients as possible. Preventative care will be a major part of this free clinic. Everyone will leave with a toothbrush and their teeth cleaned. Children will get a fluoride varnish and a toy. Roupp reminds you that the lines will be LONG and you MUST BE PATIENT! Doors open at 5am both days. You will have to pass a health screening to see a dentist. No appointments will be taken. There is no age limit and there is no childcare available.
