Good Friday activities this week will include a unique and inspirational event that anyone of any denomination can participate in, “The Way of The Cross” Walk. The Downtown Council of Churches of Cape Girardeau seeks to bring together people of all faiths at noon Friday at the Common Pleas Courthouse gazebo. Evangelical United Church of Christ Pastor Dan Johnson tells KZIM-KSIM what makes this event special is the stops along the way and the prayers for the city, leaders, and citizens. Johnson describes the route as accessible to all, at about 1.2 miles long and lasting about an hour and a half. With the route being easy to find up Broadway and down Independence, the DCC encourages people to come for even part of it if they cannot participate in the entire walk. In the event of rain, it will be moved to Old St. Vincent’s Church on Spanish Street.
