TODAY'S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .

Joan Carles M.M., 28, of Sabadell, Spain, who stole a wallet but ran into trouble when he tried to use the credit card and was unable to guess the PIN number. After a number of tries, he found himself locked out of the system, so he called the wallet's owner to ask for the PIN. He attempted to pose as a VISA customer service representative, but his ruse failed and he was placed under arrest.

AND THEN THERE'S .....

Willie Merriweather, 53, who learned if you want to improve your job-hunting success while being interviewed at the employment agency, don't expose your genitals. An employee of a staffing agency told officers that Merriweather entered the business and sat down at her desk. While she collected his personal information she looked over and the suspect had his penis out of his pants and in his hand. The woman stated that the suspect told her, "it fell out." Needless to say he didn't get the job, but did get a ride in a police car for indecent exposure.

OR HOW 'BOUT .....

Sarah-Jane Hulme, 41, who didn't understand why everyone is making such a big fuss over the fact that she brought her four-month-old baby with her to a rave. After all she did have headphones for him. After parenting groups blasted her, the mother-of-three claims she now regrets taking him to the gig. She said "I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I used to take my daughters out to similar events when they were the same age, but that was almost two decades ago. I guess society has changed."

OKAY, ONE MORE .....

Brandon Phillips, 28, who attempted to remove a tree stump using fireworks. He failed in removing the stump, but succeeded in getting injured. Sheriff's deputies believe some type of homemade firework was used to remove the stump, but failed. Phillips was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Peoria. The nature of his injuries could not be determined, but he was listed in fair condition.
