A Charleston man charged with killing an ex-girlfriend will be back in court July 16th for a jury trial in Jackson! 28-year old Maurice Davis was arrested December 12th, 2010, in the killing of a 23-year-old Charleston woman. Latosha Greer of Charleston was found in a back yard, with a gunshot wound to her head. The murder weapon was recovered. Davis is jailed on charges of 1st-degree murder and Kidnapping. His case was moved to Cape County on a change of venue. Judge Ben Lewis is presiding over his trial. But a mistrial was declared Tuesday after they were unable to seat a qualified jury. Davis faces up to life in prison without parole if convicted. The prosecutor is not pursuing the death penalty.
