Christopher K. Limbaugh has been named as Cape Girardeau County’s next prosecuting attorney by Governor Jay Nixon, following as a third generation in his family to hold the position. He is the son and grandson of two former county prosecutors who went on to careers as judges, his father is a federal judge Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr., former chief justice of the Missouri Supreme Court. Chris Limbaugh was surprised and flattered by Nixon’s call this week, and tells KZIM-KSIM that his family and friends have influenced him greatly toward his work in the law. Limbaugh’s family was with him when Nixon called, and they were able to celebrate the news immediately. Limbaugh anticipates being sworn in sometime after January 1st.
