A Sikeston man faces kidnapping and assault charges after an incident Friday night involving a boyfriend and girlfriend. 30-year old Richard Wayne Johnson was charged with assault in the first degree, kidnapping, tampering with a witness and property damage. Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says Johnson and two victims were at a business in Oran when Johnson started fighting with the male victim. According to Walter Johnson reportedly hit the man repeatedly and allegedly forced both victims into a car and drove toward Morley. Walter said Johnson apparently left the man lying in the roadway unconscious while he forced the female victim to drive him home and then released her. Johnson allegedly threatened to kill her if she contacted the police and disabled her cell phone. She reportedly went back to the male victim but Johnson reportedly followed her and allegedly continued to assault the man. When Johnson left, Walter says the female took the man, her current boyfriend to get medical help and informed authorities. According to her statement, Johnson threatened her multiple times and made the statement that he was not going back to prison. Johnson was taken to the Scott County Jail on $150,000 bond.
