Missouri general revenue collections have increased 7-percent so far this fiscal year over F-Y 2012. State budget director Linda Luebbering says most of that rise is attributed to more people making more money. Individual income tax collections are up 3-point-5 since July 1st. Sales and use tax revenue remains flat, up slightly for the year. Luebbering tells KZIM KSIM the trend remains positive that Missouri’s economy is starting to turn around. Luebbering says corporate income and franchise collections remain low, down 5-percent for the year. She says they’re hopeful a good Christmas shopping season will raise sales tax revenues, which tend to lag behind rising wages.
