A Kennett woman charged with abandoning a corpse gets a new judge. Dunklin County responded to the town of Gibson September 21st. Crews found the body of 20-year-old Autumn Medley on the side of the road. The Dunklin County Major Case Squad was activated to investigate. Police determined 43-year-old Lisa McCormick of Kennett left Medley’s body at that location, just off Dunklin County Road 3-22. McCormick is charged with a felony of corpse abandonment. She and a friend dumped Medley’s body after she died from an apparent drug overdose. They used Medley’s cell phone to alert police of her whereabouts and fled the scene. McCormick posted a 25-thousand-dollar bond and will be arraigned December 12th in Kennett.
