A Texas County man intends to file for the 8th District in 2010!

A Texas County rancher, who feels the Eighth Congressional District is "ready for new leadership," recently announced his intention to challenge incumbent Jo Ann Emerson in the August 2010 primary election. 52-year-old Republican Bob Parker, of Raymondville, Missouri, was in Poplar Bluff last week visiting with business leaders about his disgust with Jo Ann Emerson’s votes on bailout plans, trade agreements, and cash for clunker programs. He tells KZIM KSIM concerns over last fall’s federal bailout of financial institutions were a determining factor to run. Parker says despite the bailout, 57 banks have failed since last October, 789 Chrysler dealerships have closed their doors, and 4-point-5 million jobs were lost. Parker has operated a ranch near Mountain Grove since he was 19. He will file to run in February.
