Cape Girardeau City manager Scott Meyer invites you to take a look at the complete plan for future road improvements next week during an open house before the city Planning and Zoning Commission votes to send the project list to the city council. Meyer tells KZIM KSIM this Transportation Trust Fund 4 or TTF4 is the fourth - five-year plan for roads funded by a half-cent sales tax adopted in1995. From 6 to 7 pm on the 9th you can review the plan at the city council chambers. The P and Z Commission meeting begins at 7 pm when a vote will take place. City leaders want an August 2010 vote to extend the tax five more years. At the last commission meeting members discussed improvements along Bloomfield Road, at the following intersections: Broadway and Henderson, Independence and Gordonville, and at Lexington and Route W. Roads listed as improvements include: West End – Linden to to Jefferson, West End – Rose to New Madrid, Walnut – Sprigg to West End, Broadway – Pacific to Water, and Veteran’s memorial – Scenic to Hopper. Also improvements to William and Main Streets.
