Police link a Georgia teen two to Cape bank robberies
Federal prosecutors believe they’ve solved two recent bank robberies after charging two men Tuesday, following an event at a Cape First State Community Bank branch 9:50 Monday morning. Cape Police Corporal Adam Glueck tells KZIM KSIM 19-year-old Marquel Rhines of Mounds, Illinois and 18-year-old Keiran Pippins of Forest Park, Georgia are in a Saint Louis Jail. Pippins was indicted Tuesday in federal court on two felony counts of bank robbery and Rhines one count of bank robbery. They were quickly caught after a brief foot chase on Bloomfield Road by the Lutheran Home Monday morning. Pippins allegedly fled on foot after robbing the Capaha Bank branch on North Kingshighway Thursday morning. Nobody was injured inside the branch and the stolen cash was fully recovered.
