It’s almost time to kick off the Christmas season in Cape Girardeau!
The 18th annual Parade of Lights hits Broadway from Capaha Park to the riverfront next Sunday the 29th! Beginning at dusk, Old Town Cape Executive Director Marla Mills says the floats will make their way towards the downtown area in all of their glittering glory! She tells KZIM KSIM this is such a popular event that they actually had to limit the number of entries! At this point from keeping the parade from getting way too long only 100 displays are allowed. The forecast appears to be cooperating and the downtown is decorated for Christmas! All floats will be lighted and Santa will bring in the finale float with his sleigh! Mills reminds parents that candy will be handed out by some of the floats and it will be dark – so please monitor your children closely. The route will be signed by the police for no parking.
