A Train accident claims the life of a Bootheel man

A Bootheel man died over the weekend after his car collided with a train near Campbell. 44-year-old Scotty Davis of Campbell was driving his Buick on Dunklin County Road 2-31, 3-miles north of Campbell at 9:45 Saturday morning, when he approached a signal device. He failed to yield to an eastbound Burlington Northern Train and was struck. The coroner pronounced him dead at the scene 45 minutes later and his body was taken to Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. Davis is the 60th death in the Highway Patrol’s Troop-E this year.
