A Cape man’s statutory sodomy case moves to New Madrid County

A Cape area Naval recruiter will have his case heard in a nearby county after he allegedly had a sexual encounter with a high school student. 35-year-old Robbie Millsaps was arrested September 11th on the Class-C felony of statutory sodomy. The county sheriff’s department was contacted on the 2nd after a hotline call to the department of social services. The teenage girl stated she and a friend inquired about joining the Navy after graduation. Millsaps interviewed the two girls in late August and then drove them to their homes. He then allegedly exchanged text messages with one of them and arranged a meeting at his house, where they had a sexual encounter. Millsaps was arrested on the 4th and posted bond five days later. He pled not guilty and was granted a change of venue Monday to New Madrid County Court. A new hearing date there is pending.
