A routine traffic stop in Miner leads to the seizure of a meth lab

A routine traffic stop in Miner has lead to a meth lab seizure! Sikeston DPS stopped a vehicle Wednesday night for not having a license plate light. The driver was then arrested for not having an operator’s license. A search of the subject revealed contraband on his person, and further investigation turned up meth-making precursors in the vehicle. All three subjects in the vehicle were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. One passenger also had an active warrant through Dunklin County for attempting to manufacture meth. The SEMO Drug Task Force, Scott County Sheriff’s Department, and Sikeston DPS were then notified of information that lead to two more arrests and seizure of a meth lab at a local hotel in Sikeston. The subjects were charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of meth, and child endangerment. All five suspects remain in custody at this time, pending formal charges.
