A Sainte Gen murder case goes to court early next month
A Festus man will go to court next month charged with murdering a Jefferson County man and then trying to hide his body in Sainte Genevieve County. 49-year-old Mark Taylor is behind bars on a one-million-dollar bond, charged with 1st-degree murder, abandonment of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence. On October 1st, a Sainte Gen County deputy and the highway patrol responded to a call that a body was lying in a truck. The man was identified Danny Dotson of Desoto, who was a know Meth user. Police found a single gunshot wound in his torso and abrasion marks on his back. An investigation led police to Taylor’s house, where they found blood evidence. They later located him in his vehicle near his workplace, where he was arrested. Police believe this was a drug-related dispute. Taylor goes to court November 10th in Sainte Genevieve County Court.
