A Sikeston man makes a court appearance on murder
A Sikeston man behind bars charged with killing his brother had his case moved to a higher court in Scott County! Police responded to 3-22 Benton Street at 9 o’clock September 6th after a 9-1-1 caller reported a stabbing. David Johnson was found with a stab wound to his upper chest. He was rushed to Missouri Delta Medical Center, where he died from the wound. Police arrested the victim’s brother, 57-year-old Larry Johnson, and charged him with murder in the 2nd-degree and armed criminal action. According to detectives, the brothers got into an argument over 30-dollars owed to Larry, which escalated into him allegedly stabbing David in the left collarbone with a butcher-style knife. Johnson appeared Thursday before Judge Scott Horman for a preliminary hearing. The judge found there is enough evidence for the case to go to trial. An arraignment is slated for November 12th before Judge David Dolan’s Circuit Court.
