The Tour of Missouri has a finish line in downtown Cape
The 2009 Tour of Missouri doesn’t begin for 40 days but the map of each specific stage was released Thursday. The event begins in Saint Louis September 7th with a 10-lap circuit race through the downtown. Stage-2 starts in Sainte Genevieve the next day at 11 AM, proceeds 112-miles to Perryville, then down Route-C into Cape County, through the back roads before ending down Highway-177 into downtown Cape on Main Street between 3 and 4:15 PM. Event organizer Steve Brunner tells KZIM KSIM this is truly a top International race. The race continues the next day from Farmington to Rolla, then west ending on the 13th in Kansas City. There will be 120 riders representing 15 teams from all over the world. Team rosters will be announced in late August. This is the first time Cape Girardeau has been included in the three-year old race.
