A Caruthersville man is dead after connecting with a power line!

A 21-year old construction worker is dead after hitting a power line with a bucket truck in Caruthersville! Police released a report indicating Roger Forester of Caruthersville was operating the controls at the rear of a bucket truck loading plywood onto the roof of the Pylates Machine Shop yesterday just before 7:30am. While doing so Forester accidentally moved the bucket into the power lines above him… coming into to contact with a LIVE wire hosting 19-thousand volts! Electricity traveled down the boom and into the victim knocking him off the truck. The surge then went through the outrigger of the truck, into the ground, struck a gas line and caused a leak! Emergency officials performed CPR but could not save Forester. He was pronounced dead by Pemiscot County Coroner Jim Brimhall at a Hayti hospital. This is being ruled an accident. Power and gas crews were on scene to repair lines. The area was cleared about 4 hours later.
