A Bernie man is dead after a crash yesterday in Stoddard County…
An accident late yesterday afternoon has claimed the life of a Bernie man. Missouri Highway Patrol reports indicate that 38-year old Michael Norman of Dexter slowed on Route Z – 7 miles east of Bernie on his ATV 4-wheeler when a motorcycle driven by 41-year old Donald Craver struck his vehicle in the rear. Craver and his 7-year old passenger, Dalton Norman – the son of the driver of the OTHER vehicle – were thrown from the bike and NOT wearing helmets. Craver was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician. The younger Norman received moderate injuries and is hospitalized in Cape Girardeau. The elder Norman was not injured. This is fatality number 24 for troop E in 2009.
